Jittery and scholarly, that's what I am.

I am getting dangerously close to finishing the semester, which is a prospect that, in the last week or so, has turned from terrifying to fantastic. I will hand in my first of two final papers tomorrow-- and am now waiting for my fourth draft of it to print out so I can continue trying to put everything in an order that works. Since I was in class until 6:30 tonight, I'm having my first coffee in several months in hopes of being awake enough to get it all done before tomorrow morning. One of the most exciting things about this paper is that it's in English, for a change, and so Dave has been able to help me edit it. My next one's in Spanish, though, so I'll be on my own.

Our new apartment is still great, although the responsibility required to live here has made it slightly more complicated to get away for the holidays. I'm pretty sure we've got it all squared away, though, with friends volunteering to come stay here and handle our duties as "Resident Managers." Especially exciting is that Clem has officially discovered that what is outside the apartment is not nature but hallway. He can't comprehend that it's not his hallway, so he frequently runs out the door when we open it up and gets a full head of steam going so he can propell himself down the hall towards the fire escape as quickly as possible. When he reaches his goal, he stops and turns around and just looks at us, to make sure we know that he has beaten us once again. Rosa is a little more freaked out by the hallway. She slowly crouches her way out and then she and Clem circle each other like they've never met before. At this point, she retreats back to the apartment.

Okay, my paper must be printed by now.... time to read it again.
